Unfortunately, Mildred’s dream of upward mobility seems doomed to failure, as George relentlessly embarrasses her in every way possible. Storyline

Such plotlines as nuclear doomsday, pollution of natural resources, foreign threat, and theft of American technology are all still relevant today.
